Download Odion Ighalo Has Proven To Be A Big Hit With The United Supporters
Manchester United’s hopes of signing on-loan Shanghai Shenhua striker Odion Ighalo on a permanent basis this summer may have suffered a possible blow after the Nigerian was offered a two-year contract extension by his parent club.
A report by Sky Sports has revealed that the Chinese outfit have offered Igahlo, who has been a big hit with the United supporters since arriving at Old Trafford back in January, a new two-year contract extension worth more than £400,000-per-week.
Ighalo, who has scored four times in his first three starts for the club, is scheduled to return to China following the expiry of his loan on May 30.
But it is reported, also by Sky Sports, that the deal may be extended until June 30 because of the coronavirus outbreak, which has forced the Premier League campaign to come to a halt until June 30, at the earliest.
he news of the former Watford striker being set for a new mega-money deal by Shanghai Shenhua has certainly brought about a reaction from United fans, who appear keen for the striker to stay at Old Trafford beyond this summer.
Here is a round-up of what some United supporters have been saying about this news about Ighalo on Twitter…
If he chooses Man Utd over this offer, then that’s true love.

I’m a United fan but I would still take this deal. Ighalo probably takes care of his whole family. He’s got like 3-5 years left in his career.

If the choice to stay with Man Utd or take up the £400 grand a week 2 yr extension to his contract in China is solely down to @ighalojude you’d imagine he’d want to stay with Man Utd but let’s be honest if he took the option of the cash who could blame him#StayWithUtdAndBeLoved

So from what I gather, Ighalo has the chance to sign permanently for the club he’s supported all his life, or get £400k a week… that’s not a bad choice is it?Still, if we do want to sign him and he turns us down he’ll wreck the love the supporters have shown to him #MUFC

£400k a week been offered to Ighalo. We could pay his subs for him and he’d stay. Proper red

@ighalojude don’t go. We love you #MUFC 🕺 https://t.co/TgHPaNJHri

If it means United have to sign Odion Ighalo instead of a younger, higher profile striker for us to buy both Jadon Sancho and Kalidou Koulibaly in the summer then do so. #MUFC

“Odion has done really well since he came in and he’s enjoying himself,” Solskjaer said. “And he will improve and get better but he has qualities we saw in him and we needed and we will still need those qualities for next season, so let’s see what we will do.”
