Manchester United remain interested in Thomas Meunier and could target the Paris Saint-Germain full-back as a replacement for Ashley Young, according to reports.

Young has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford after a decorated association with the Red Devils.

The 34-year-old is expected to finalise a move to Inter Milan after Antonio Conte’s side agreed a fee to bring him to the Serie A.

Speaking in his latest press conference, Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisted that he is “quite ok” with his options at right-back.

He said: “Timothy [Fosu-Mensah] is coming back as well, he’s a right back and played for Holland as a right back aged 19, we want him back.

“Diogo [Dalot] is back fit but the full-back position we’re quite ok.”

However, according to French newspaper La Parisien, United – who were linked with a move for Belgian international Meunier in the summer – remain keen on the 28-year-old.

Meunier is out of contract in the summer and will be a free agent unless he extends his stay in Paris before then but United are reportedly not the only side to be looking into a move for him.

The newspaper claims that two other unnamed Premier League sides have registered an interest, as well as Juventus and German champions Bayern Munich.

Meunier joined PSG from Club Brugge in July 2016 and has made 120 appearances so far, chipping in with 13 goals and 21 assists.

Elsewhere in Friday’s press conference, Solskjaer responded to the statistic that his front three have scored more goals this term than Liverpool’s, ahead of the clash between the sides on Sunday.

The manager was keen to explain the differences between the two attacks, however, saying: “The front three they’ve got have been playing together for ages, seasons now, and you can see the rotation movements, understanding and we hope our front three will get that understanding.

“I think I’ve only started them together once in Premier League, so we’ve got a way to go to get the understanding but they scored four goals in that game.

“So I believe in ours, we’re going to add to them, definitely, but in years coming we’ll see lots of them.”
