It goes without saying that Lord Jamar will never be a fan of Eminem. If you were unsure of the rapper’s feelings about Slim Shady, he served up a reminder yesterday.
In a new interview with RapMatic uploaded Wednesday (May 15), the Brand Nubian rapper claimed that Black people don’t listen to Em in the streets or the club. Jamar continued to go all the way in on Em by calling his music wack, his delivery wack, his voice wack and… well you get the point.
“But, when we go into everyday life of Black people, people who are the originators of this shit, we don’t fucking listen to Eminem,” Jamar said. “We don’t listen to Eminem. We don’t go to the gym and turn on Eminem. We don’t listen to him on the way to the club. We don’t play him in the club…now, corny places I can’t speak for that.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Jamar said that Em gets too many props because of his commercial success.“My thing about Eminem and all that — and I hate bringing his fucking name up — my thing about this muthafucka is you can’t crown somebody king and circumvent the true kingdom,” he said. “Like white people will crown Eminem king because he sold the most records out of all rappers.
This isn’t the first time Jamar called Em wack. He’s one of several artists who were dissed on Eminem’s song “Fall” off his Kamikaze album, which dropped last year. In the song, Em raps “And far as Lord Jamar, you better leave me the hell alone/Or I’ll show you an Elvis clone/Walk up in this house you own, thrust my pelvic bone/Use your telephone and go fetch me the remote/Put my feet up and just make myself at home/I belong here, clown, don’t tell me ’bout the culture.”
At the time, Jamar was reportedly more disappointed at how wack the song was overall. It seems as though his thoughts about “Fall” haven’t changed.
“He did a verse about me,” Jamar says during the interview. “You know how bad I wanted that song to be something good? It was wack. It wasn’t shit … nobody, only white people and people on the internet [talked about it].”
As of this report, Eminem has not responded to Jamar’s revamped criticism of “Fall.” Watch Lord Jamsar put Eminem on blast below.
